I am a 2nd Line Engineer for an independent I.T. Sales, Service, & Support company in Gloucestershire, providing telephone, remote, and on-site customer-facing support to business, education, & domestic clients.
As well as providing, monitoring and supporting hundreds of broadband connections for domestic, business, and enterprise customers, my employer provides I.T. support to SME, business, enterprise, charity and education sectors, and as the out-sourced I.T. service provider for a number of I.T. & Telecoms businesses.
I am a Microsoft Certified Professional, but I also work with non-Microsoft products.
I have had a varied career in IT, from helping with I.T. while at school, work experience for a local "one man band" business, then exclusively contracted to a multi-national repairing EPoS, Printers, Laptops, Desktops & Servers throughout North-West England, to working as an IT & Telecoms engineer installing & supporting client-server networks, PABX systems, and network cabling for an I.T. Services Provider in West Cumbria, to now where I live and work in Gloucestershire.
I am fortunate to have a varied array of work on a daily basis, such as server administration, supporting customers with their office packages, resolving issues with email and web-hosting, diagnosing faults with broadband and telephone lines, to break/fix on desktops & servers, virus removal, file restores, network monitoring, etc.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with one of my various Hobbies.
I setup LD50.co.uk in 2005, with the aim of promoting local Cumbrian bands.
Mostly funded from my pocket, the LD50.co.uk has generated some revenue from Google Adsense & Amazon Affiliates,
but I wonder how the forthcoming "cookie-law" is going to affect the revenue-generation schemes that rely on cookies.
